UoM Club of Greater Detroit Scholarships

There is plenty offered from University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit scholarships, so don’t overlook what they have on the table! In order to qualify for such UoM club scholarships, high school students must reside in certain regions of Michigan. They include the following counties; Monroe, Washtenaw, Wayne, Oakland, Macomb,  and Livingston County.

Criteria for UOM Club Scholarships

1) All applicants must meet at least 1 of the following 3 criteria:
· ACT score of 31 or higher
· SAT score of 2100 or higher
· Top 1% of graduating class
2) All applicants must:
· Show exceptional academic success
· Show community and school leadership
· Plan to attend the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor
3) All applications must be received by January 11th to be considered. Along with the application, there needs to be the following:
· Essay
· Two letters of reference
· Official school documents

University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit Scholarships

The University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit was established in 1895 and continues to be strong today. The organization was developed with three key goals in mind:
· To promote the best overall interests of the University of Michigan
· To create a friendly atmosphere and interactions among the members of the club
· To provide an annual banquet where they could honor their faculty, students, and key contributors of the college

Lloyd and Laurie Carr Scholarship

One winner will be awarded this scholarship of $3,000 that can be used only at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. Financial need is also necessary for a student to be the recipient of this award. This scholarship was started in 2008 to help those that wish to attend this particular university but will only be able to do so with additional funding sources coming their direction.

Harold duCharme Scholarship

This club scholarship is also in the amount of $3,000 and awarded to one high school senior who will be attending the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. This is a long standing scholarship that was implemented in 1940. This gentleman was a student at this particular university and continued to do all he could for students there until he passed away.

David J. Hallissey Memorial Scholarship

Two outstanding high school students will each get $3,000 through this University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit scholarship. They also must be enrolled at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. The students selected are determined based on their passion to help others, educational goals, and personal motivation.

Jerry & Anne Hanlon Scholarship

One high school student will earn a $3,000 scholarship that can be used at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. This UoM scholarship is need based, and the student that is awarded the money will need to show that they have a financial hardship to afford the cost of college without the money.

James H. LoPrete Scholarship

These funds are for an outstanding high school senior who will be attending the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. The award amount is $3,000. This Michigan scholarship is to honor Mr. LoPrete who got his BA from the school in 1951 and his law degree there in 1953.

Frederick C. Matthaei Scholarship

This club scholarship is offered for two students that show they are outstanding leaders and academically. Each student will be awarded $3,000 and this is a need based scholarship. Individuals must show that they have a difficulty coming up with enough funds to attend the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor without the funding.

Gary & Ann Moeller Scholarship

One outstanding high school senior who is going to attend the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor will receive $3,000. This is also a scholarship that is based on financial need. Students must demonstrate that they need the funding in order for them to be able to realistically attend the university.

Roger & Elaine Zatkoff Scholarships

Two students that will be attending the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. The club scholarships are for $3,000 each. They can be used to help reduce the financial burden that students face when they go to college. This is a need based scholarship and verification of income is necessary.

You can use the funds from any of the University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit Scholarships to reduce the financial burden you have for your education.
